OH … WOW … THIS ISN’T A COYOTE!
NO … IT IS A COD! And it is an important predator fish of our ocean.
Our earth has evolved to include predators in all the diverse spaces of our planet: the land, the sea the sky!
They all play the important role of sustaining biodiversity so needed for the health of all life on our planet…including ours.
I invite you to watch this very enlightening film on these predators of the sea…and us!

“Man’s respect and awe of predators turned to hatred when man’s lifestyle changed from tribal hunters – when he ceased to be a kindred spirit living by his wits as a hunter. And instead, took the land himself.
He took the land without forethought once he began his agrarian mode of life, his domesticated plants and animals having priority over all else. No longer did he share the land with his fellow creatures – suddenly they had no rights. The world became an extension of his egocentric needs and values- and egosphere – arrogant and blind indifference to all life but his own.”

COYOTES PLAY!
Coyotes play just like our own dogs play. They like to have fun too.
They delight in the joys of life too, just as we delight in the joys of life.
WOW! We share this planet with such a wild being.

“What is important is to remember that in killing these thousands of animals without being very sure of what we are accomplishing, we are playing around with lives, which involves questions of ethics. And we certainly are playing around with complex ecological systems with very little understanding of the rules of the game, knowledge of the odds, or appreciation of the stakes involved.”

OUR SCIENCE IS DISCOVERING HOW AMAZING OUR NATIVE CANINE IS!
Our Native Peoples who lived with Coyote already knew all this….
Dr. Stan Gehrt, who has been researching the Coyotes who live in Chicago, shares what he has found in the link below. Know that Coyotes are Coyotes whether they live in or out of towns. Their same spirit of resilience that you will observe on this link can also be found in our Coyotes living in rural areas.

It is a delight to observe their physical agility, the shifting of their ears back and forth….listening, listening to sounds we can never hear.
